At DoorDash, we are committed to community. That’s why we’ve devoted the past three years to building local teams in dozens of metropolitan areas across the country, partnering with tens of thousands of local merchants, and creating flexible work opportunities for anyone with a bike or car as Dashers.
It’s with that spirit of community and civic engagement that we’re proud to partner with Rock the Vote to do our part to raise awareness about the importance of voting– by making registering to vote as easy as ordering tacos on-demand.
Today, in honor of National Voter Registration Day, residents in select DoorDash markets will be able to “Dash the Vote” and receive a local voter registration form delivered to their doors, on-demand. The packet will contain a state voter information packet, the national voter registration form, and a stamped envelope to mail the form back to your local election office. People in these markets can simply log on to the DoorDash app or website, select the “Dash the Vote” store and place an order for a registration form the same way they would place an order for dinner.
In 2008, more than 6 million Americans missed out on the opportunity to vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register. For many first-time voters, finding time to register is a major barrier, whether it’s due to long shifts at work or hours eaten up by school assignments. So we’re proud to be making voter registration more accessible to thousands of people, while teaming up with Rock the Vote as a Corporate Civic Responsibility partner to educate, inform, and drive turn out at the polls.
If you don’t live in a “Dash the Vote” delivery area, or don’t have the time to request a delivery, you can still celebrate National Voter Registration Day by filling out a voter registration form online. Just use the widget below to select your state and and fill out the necessary information.
Every voice matters and we want to hear yours loud and clear. No matter how you fill out your form, we hope you take the time to register to vote today and make your voice heard this November.
