Celebrate Earth Day with DoorDash and Plant a Tree

By Angela Chang, Head of Brand

One of our core values at DoorDash is giving back to the communities that we work in. So, we’re celebrating Earth Day today by encouraging healthy eating and restoring Mother Nature. To echo this year’s Earth Day theme: Trees for the Earth, we’re trading a leaf on your plate for a new leaf in the ground: for every DoorDash order placed today that includes a salad, we’ll plant a tree through the Arbor Day Foundation’s Choccolocco State Forest project in Alabama.

Choccolocco State Forest is a 4,488 acre state-owned forest that doubles as a Wildlife Management Area. The forest contains some of the last remaining old growth mountain longleaf pine forests in the world. The goal is to re-establish the original longleaf pine ecosystem so it can provide wildlife habitat, and recreation for visitors and outdoor enthusiasts.

But caring about the environment and sustainability isn’t unique to DoorDash. Many of our restaurant partners celebrate Earth Day on a daily basis by being green and health conscious through environmentally friendly dishes made with food from organically grown and sustainably farmed ingredients.
