The holiday shopping season is in full force. And with that, we wanted to take a moment to recognize the thousands of small and independently owned businesses we’ve been fortunate enough to call partners over the past six years.
This weekend, we’re celebrating these businesses by encouraging customers to dine locally with $5 off your order of $10* or more at participating restaurants in Austin, Denver, Detroit, LA, and Philly. On 11/30 and 12/1, diners in those cities can use code EATATX, EATDENVER, EATDETROIT, EATLA, or EATPHILLY to get $5 towards a handful of local participating merchants.
Local restaurants have a measurable impact across every community, and they are the cornerstone of our platform. As part of DoorDash’s mission, we’re committed to empowering any merchant to grow by accessing the online convenience economy. Connecting local businesses to more customers is our passion. So is providing neighborhood cafes, family-owned diners, and homegrown restaurants more opportunities to thrive.
We welcome the local flavors, cuisines, and most importantly, the people that make each community unique and add to the diversity we’re proud to offer our customers.
Here’s a spotlight of just a few of the fantastic small businesses on our platform.
Chicas Tacos
Founded by Chef Eduardo Ruiz, Jon and Chris Blanchard, and Nicolo Rusconi, Chicas Tacos started with a mission of “A Better Taco,” bringing fresh, healthy fare rooted in Mexican traditions to Los Angeles. The menu is inspired by frequent trips to Baja, featuring delicious tacos crafted in Chef Ruiz’s signature “Alta California” style, and also pays homage to regional Mexican cuisine. Be sure to check out their one-of-a-kind fish taco, which includes a non-GMO corn tortilla and beer-battered fish topped with a Caesar salad.

Seorabol Center City
The first Seorabol location in Olney is one of the oldest operating Korean restaurants in Philadelphia. In the last year, the father-and-son duo expanded their empire to Center City. Seorabol is best known for its authentic Korean food like its famous homemade kimchi, Korean BBQ, seafood pancake and soondubu (spicy seafood tofu stew), always served with complimentary banchan (side dishes). Beyond cooking up delicious food, Seorabol and Chef Chris Cho are in many ways ambassadors, sharing the heritage, culture and cuisine of Korea with Philly residents since the early 1990s. Seorabol is a part of DoorDash’s Kitchens Without Borders initiative celebrating the immigrant- and refugee-owned businesses across our country.
