Today, we have activated our Severe Weather Protocol and suspended operations across large parts of Florida.

The precautionary measure comes as Hurricane Ian is forecast to make landfall bringing potentially life-threatening weather conditions, including heavy rain, damaging winds, flooding and storm surges, to impacted areas this week.

We are suspending all operations in the following areas from 9:00 PM ET Tuesday, September 27, 2022:

  • Tampa
  • Miami
  • Orlando
  • Fort Myers
  • Naples
  • Cape Coral
  • Key West
  • Saint Petersburg
  • Fort Lauderdale
  • Melbourne
  • Daytona Beach
  • West Palm Beach
  • Port St. Lucie

We will closely monitor conditions on the ground and guidance from local authorities before resuming operations. The changes are being communicated with Dashers, merchants and customers in the impacted areas.

“The safety of Dashers, merchants and customers is our top priority,” said DoorDash spokesperson Julian Crowley.

“To keep our community safe, DoorDash is activating its Severe Weather Protocol and temporarily suspending our operations across Florida.

“We want to thank the affected Dashers, merchants and customers for their understanding during these incredibly difficult conditions and will resume operations when it is safe to do so.”
