Say that you’re sitting on the couch enjoying the big game, watching a classic movie, or catching up on some work. You start to feel hungry, so you download the DoorDash app, find your favorite restaurant, and you’re ready to order.
But then, trouble strikes. Your wallet is all the way across the room and you don’t know your credit card number. The options are: get up and find your wallet, or suffer through hunger. The situation seems hopeless.
Android Pay
But you’re in luck. Starting today, Google is rolling out updates to Android Pay, a mobile payment solution that offers people a simple and secure way to pay for things within their Android devices. With Android Pay, you can pay with your Google Account rather than your credit card. And with today’s update to the DoorDash Android app, we have enabled Android Pay, so paying is officially faster, easier, and simpler than ever.
If you haven’t set up Android Pay yet, give it a whirl. Once it’s set up on your phone, we’ll use it as your default payment method for DoorDash (you can always change this option later). Even better, for a limited time, you’ll get $10 off of your DoorDash order of $20 or more when you pay with Android Pay, so what are you waiting for?
Updated Order Tracking
Today’s Android app update also includes a redesigned Order Status page and new help options. Now, it’s even easier to track your delivery in real time and make changes. The Order Status page now provides detailed, up-to-the-minute status messages on your delivery, as well as a Contact Dasher button to text or call your dasher in case anything goes wrong.
Meanwhile, the new Help page allows you to make changes to your order directly from the app, including rescheduling orders, changing the delivery address, adding notes, and more. For those situations that still need a human touch, we have also added a chat option to reach a member of our Delight Crew directly.
We’ve already integrated Apple Pay and chat support in the DoorDash iOS app and updated the order status on the web, so no matter how you like to pay or order your food, DoorDash now has you covered. Try it out for yourself today.
